Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has affirmed the government's commitment to strengthening economic diplomacy as a means to attract foreign investment and unlock Nepal's development potential.

Speaking at the 59th annual general meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on Thursday, Dr. Rana stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a dedicated division to promote economic diplomacy and foster stronger ties with international investors.

She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector to create a conducive investment environment. Recalling recent international engagements—including the BIMSTEC conference in Bangkok and the Prime Minister's visit to China—she noted encouraging interactions between Nepal’s business community and foreign investors.

“I personally witnessed a genuine interest from international industrialists and entrepreneurs in exploring investment opportunities in Nepal. We must actively work to attract them,” Dr. Rana said.

Highlighting key sectors such as energy, tourism, infrastructure development, and information technology, the minister called for the private sector’s proactive role in leveraging these opportunities through joint efforts.

Dr. Rana also stressed the need to promote entrepreneurship and empower investors, asserting that the economic strength of the country is closely tied to the vitality of its private sector. “All Nepalis aspire for economic development and prosperity. Achieving those goals is only possible with active private sector participation,” she concluded.
